NATURAL MENS HEALTH: WEIGHT MAIN FACTORS OF WEIGHT PROBLEMS

The modern culture does little to promote healthy habits: we have fast food chains as well as the sophisticated technology of television and computers. We eat high-fat, high-sugar, low-nutrition food while sitting passively in front of entertainment. Our daily schedules incorporate little exercise or outdoor activity. Many men's diets include a high intake of refined carbohydrates in the form of hamburgers, fried foods, fizzy drinks, chocolates, cakes and biscuits, as well as a large consumption of beer and alcohol, which are loaded with refined sugar. Weight gain slowly creeps up on everyone with this sort of diet and lifestyle.

Ageing in men is also a factor contributing to weight gain. As men age, physical activity often decreases but eating habits remain unchanged. Many older men are practically sedentary but are still consuming the same high calorie diet as they did when they were younger and more active.

Weight gain can also be triggered by some medications (such as cortisone-based medications, especially those used in treating inflammatory diseases such as asthma, irritable bowel syndrome and arthritis). Excessive stress has also been known to result in excessive weight gain, as many men eat for comfort and relaxation in times of high stress.
